VerbaWrist Terms of Service
These terms apply to the VerbaWrist phone and watch apps and the VerbaWrist cloud service. VerbaWrist is provided by Haugli Multiservice ("we", "us"). By using VerbaWrist you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
What VerbaWrist does
VerbaWrist records audio on your watch or phone and can turn recordings into transcripts, separate speakers and write summaries, either on your phone or using our cloud service, depending on the AI processing mode you choose.
Recording other people
You are responsible for using VerbaWrist lawfully. Laws on recording conversations differ between countries and situations. Before you record, make sure you are allowed to, and get the consent of the people you record where the law requires it. Do not use VerbaWrist to record people secretly where that is not allowed, or to record anything you have no right to record.
AI results can be wrong
Transcripts, speaker separation and summaries are produced automatically by AI models, on your phone or by our cloud providers. They can contain mistakes: words can be misheard or missing, speakers can be mixed up or merged, and a summary can leave out or misstate what was said. Check important content against the recording before you rely on it. Do not rely on VerbaWrist alone for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical or other decisions where an error could cause harm.
Your content
Your recordings, transcripts, speaker names and summaries belong to you (or to whoever holds the rights to them). You give us only the permission we need to process them to provide the features you use, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of your content.
Free use, trial and subscriptions
- Recording, playback and organising recordings are free and need no account.
- AI features (Cloud, Hybrid and Offline) need a Google sign-in. Each Google account can use a one-time free trial with a limited amount of recording time, shared by all three modes. The trial does not renew.
- After the trial, AI features need a subscription bought through Google Play. The app shows the plans available to you, what each plan includes (for example the amount of Cloud transcription time per billing period) and Google Play's price before you buy.
- Founding plan: while places are available, a limited number of early subscribers can subscribe to the Founding plan. A Founding place belongs to that subscription. If the first payment of a Founding subscription is refunded, that Google account cannot take a Founding place again.
- Payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds are handled by Google Play under Google Play's terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them.
- To cancel, use Google Play: Google Play app → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → VerbaWrist. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Deleting your VerbaWrist account does not cancel your Google Play subscription. Cancel it in Google Play to stop future payments.
- Unused Cloud time does not carry over to the next billing period.
- To keep the service available for everyone, we apply reasonable limits on how many requests can be made in a period. The app tells you when a limit has been reached.
Your account
You can use VerbaWrist as a guest or sign in with Google. Keep access to your Google account secure; anyone who can sign in with it can use your VerbaWrist account. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Account & Plan → Delete account.
Your data on your phone, and backups
Your recordings, transcripts, speaker names, summaries, titles and folders are stored on your phone. Android's automatic backup and device-to-device transfer are turned off for VerbaWrist, and VerbaWrist does not offer its own backup. If your phone or watch is lost, broken or reset, or you uninstall the app, this data is lost and we cannot restore it. Deleting your VerbaWrist account does not delete it unless you choose that option. Make your own arrangements for anything you cannot afford to lose.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- use VerbaWrist to break the law or to violate other people's privacy or rights;
- try to get around the trial, plan limits, payments or security checks, for example by creating accounts to obtain more trials;
- interfere with, overload, probe or reverse engineer the cloud service, or access it other than through the VerbaWrist app;
- use the service to build a competing service or to resell it.
Availability and changes
We work to keep VerbaWrist available, but we cannot promise that the cloud service will always be available or free of errors. It may be interrupted for maintenance, by problems with our providers or for reasons beyond our control. Offline processing on your phone does not depend on the cloud service, but an Offline subscription or trial must first be confirmed online. We may change, add or remove features. If we make a change that significantly reduces what a paid subscription includes, we will tell you in advance, and you can cancel in Google Play.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using VerbaWrist and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access to the cloud service for an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, for example to stop abuse of the free trial or of the service. Where reasonable, we will tell you first. This does not affect recordings and data stored on your phone.
Third-party services
VerbaWrist relies on services from Google (including Google Play and Firebase), Deepgram, OpenAI and Hugging Face, as described in the Privacy Policy. Google Play's terms apply to purchases.
Responsibility
VerbaWrist is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for loss of recordings or other data stored on your device, for decisions made based on AI results, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited by contract, or our responsibility where the law does not allow it to be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We change the version and date at the top and publish the new version in the app and at the terms' web address. If a change significantly affects you, we will let you know before it applies. If you do not agree, you can stop using VerbaWrist, cancel your subscription in Google Play and delete your account.
